Lego Rug

This Lego rug kept me busy for quite a while. 418 little ''lego'' blocks and over 150 hours work. Single bed size, so quite a lap full putting on the last ones.

Lately I've been making handbags and totes from denim jeans. This is the last one, finished it yesterday.
The collection before the first market before Christmas.

Little triangle pouches

This is what I've been making lately, little triangle pouches, mainly to use up heaps of zips that I've had for a while.  They are for sale on Etsy and they'll be at some markets locally.  They are quite useful for little items in your handbag and are quite a lot of fun for me to make.  I can personalise them with embroidery too.  Just ask!

Magnolia (Port Wine)

Not a wonderful photo but this is my latest painting, I did it with my daughter , Narelle, in mind. I gave it to her as part of her birthday present.

Latest painting

This is my latest 'finished' painting. It's been waiting for me to complete for a while. It is for sale. I really enjoy painting florals, flowers make me happy. Especially bright gerbera daisies. I sat them in a wall niche. It's about the size of a real wall niche.24" x 30"

Mixed Media Book Cover

This is my first venture into the world of Mixed Media (apart from a bit on cards). I finally took the plunge (have threatened to for a long time) and did the cover of a sketch book.  The cover started as a white woven fabric.  I stuck on cord in spirals and tissue paper to make flowers and a heavy lace. Added a birdcage for a bit of interest, thus.....
A couple of pieces of torn corrugated card, Fimo buttons and a coat of brown paint for depth....

A couple of sprays of Dylusions Ink - purple and teal. Then a coat of Perfect Pearls
Then I placed a focal point of a Prima Doll Stamp that I'd prepared and a few more embellishments before I committed to gluing.
Then the final finished version.... I added the odd bit of gold paint to highlight some bits.
A long blog, but I hope it helps anyone that wants to put their toe in the water of mixed media.  It is fun!!!!!! Next time I would take the time to undo the spiral and reassemble afterwards.
