Butterfly Cake

I thought I'd just show you all my grand daughters 2nd birthday cake.  She loves butterflies and at work we were selling butterfly cushions so I just HAD to get her one!  I used it as 'inspiration' for her cake.  Her birthday was back in March but as the computer and internet seem to be running well for me today I thought I'd blog lots.  Isn't that what days off work are for????????

Latest paintings

My daughter, Narelle, wanted to fill some bare walls at the Beauty Salon that she is sharing. So I quickly slapped some paint onto canvas.  She wanted abstract as she thinks I do too many flowers (what can I say - I love flowers) but I could NOT leave flowers alone. They are quite large but as there is nothing else in the pics the size isn't evident.  These are for sale $150 for the pink daisy and $180 for the red flower.

Work Challenge

One of the girls at work - who's turn it was to decide on the challenge, Julie, wanted us to 'bring something to life with flowers'.  We had some papier macher vases in that I'd been itching to do something with so I painted one, made some rolled up paper roses, added some glitter glue and stuck them on with punched leaves and varnished the whole thing.  This helped sell the vases and I had fun! That's what it's alll about.

quick 60th card

Well I just had to make a quick card to get into the post.  My brother is turning 60 in a few days, we don't usually exchange cards for birthdays but as its a big one I couldn't let it go un-noted.  So I quickly composed one on the computer and then I got my new toy into action. It's a jigsaw punch. Fun to play with. I originally wanted to make the complete card into a jigsaw and then he could put it together, but it didn't work out so I just did the '60' and stuck it on with 3D foam.  Then a bit of distress ink and VOILA! A quick card. I just have to get a lotto ticket and stick in with it.
