Watercolour Beetle

I've avoided watercolours since my childhood, but recently I needed a quick card for my grandson who is obsessed with 'bugs'. I'd intended to cheat and just print one but something in me said "do it in watercolour". So I did - and it turned out OK. But not content with that I had to make it shine so used my toner pen so I could foil it. The foiling doesn't show up much in the pic though, it's the stripe right down the back and the black parts on the legs.  I'm quite pleased with the result. This has now sparked my interest in watercolour paint so I've done some different beetles (will post those when they are cards).
